Ernst Fritz August was born on September 2nd, 1922 in Rummelsburg and his baptism took place there on September 24th, 1922.  Ernst Fritz August's father was August Julius Hermann Groth and his mother was Margarete Block.  His paternal grandparents are Hermann Groth and Auguste Willwock; his maternal grandparents were Eduard Johann Philipp Block and Bertha Emelie Charlotte Berg. He had a brother and three sisters, named Günther Georg Friedrich, Edith Martha Margarete, Gerda and Hildegard.  He died at the age of 23 in 1945.
